Bio

Caroline is an artist born and based in the D.C. area who primarily works in colored pencil but enjoys exploring all media and is best described as a "maker." A lifelong artist, Caroline studied art history at the University of Colorado Boulder. She is passionate about exploring human history through the lens of art. In her artistic practice, she is inspired by botanicals, landscapes, and fashion. Some of her favorite artists are Frank Lloyd Wright, Georgia O'Keeffe, Alphonse Mucha, and Hilma af Klint. Caroline currently works at Washington Printmakers Gallery in Georgetown, D.C.

ARTISTS STATEMENT

The most special part of my artistic practice is the almost meditative state I reach when I put hand to paper. I enjoy getting lost in the details and taking the utmost care with each and every element of my drawings. I hope my art can share the beauty I see in the world while imbuing some of the peace I derive from my creative process.
